Following surgery, physical therapy is essential to regain strength, mobility, flexibility, proprioception, and joint motion while reducing post-surgical pain. It has been shown that physical therapy following surgery improves patient outcomes and promotes faster recovery compared to no use of physical therapy. We can help address your goals and develop a personalized plan to help you reach those goals.
Recovery and healing time is different for each person, we have expertise to facilitate movement and strengthening at a pace that is appropriate and tailored to your needs. At Ability Physical Therapy, we use a variety of techniques including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and neuromuscular re-education (re-training your muscles, nerves, and brain to work together) to recover to a higher level of function. Our therapists stay up-to-date on current research and use it in combination with your surgeon’s protocols to guide our treatment.
In addition to in-clinic therapy, we will provide you with an individualized home exercise program to allow you to maintain your progress even after you leave our office. We are happy to answer any questions or concerns you have along the way and are excited to get you back to activities you love!
